History Of First Neodesha Bank

First Neodesha Bank was established in 1872 as The First National Bank of Neodesha in Neodesha, Kansas. Over the years, the institution underwent several name changes and regulatory modifications. On April 10, 1986, it changed its name to First Neodesha Bank, transitioned to a state-chartered bank, and withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, becoming regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In March 2004, the bank rejoined the Federal Reserve System and was classified as a state-chartered bank. The bank expanded its operations through acquisitions, purchasing Fall River State Bank in 1995, Bank of Parsons in 2011, and The First National Bank of Howard in 2015. Ultimately, on January 1, 2020, First Neodesha Bank merged with Bank of Commerce based in Chanute, Kansas, effectively ceasing its independent operations.
