First National Bank, originally established as Fulda State Bank on February 15, 1985, in Fulda, Minnesota, underwent significant growth and changes throughout its history. The institution's name was officially changed to First National Bank on October 1, 1988, at which point it also became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Over the years, First National Bank expanded its operations through several acquisitions, including First Trust Bank of Lakefield in Lakefield, Minnesota, on May 31, 1985, and First National Bank in Hastings, Minnesota, on September 10, 1994. The main office moved from Fulda to various locations, including to 109 North St. Paul Avenue in Fulda in 1994, and later to 2457 Broadway Avenue in Slayton, Minnesota, on August 29, 2011. Most recently, on November 30, 2018, First National Bank acquired First American State Bank located in Oldham, South Dakota, and subsequently moved its main office to 141 East Main Street in Oldham on the same date.
