The First National Bank of Muscatine was established on January 1, 1934, originally operating under the name Muscatine Bank and Trust Company. On February 28, 1966, the institution underwent significant changes, including a name change to First National Bank of Muscatine, a shift in its classification to a national bank, and membership in the Federal Reserve System, with its chartering agency changing to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The main office was relocated several times, moving to 100-104 West 2nd Street on June 14, 1971, and subsequently to 300 East Second Street on November 27, 1978, both in Muscatine, Iowa. The bank remained operational until June 9, 2022, when it merged with MidWestOne Bank, headquartered in Iowa City, Iowa.
