The First National Bank of Bosque County was established on August 1, 1908, originally under the name First National Bank in Valley Mills, Texas. In 1990, the bank underwent a significant expansion by acquiring the Clifton National Bank located in Clifton, Texas, on June 7 of that year. Subsequently, on February 23, 1990, the main office was relocated to Main Street in Valley Mills, Texas. The institution changed its name to the First National Bank of Bosque County on January 1, 1992. In a further development, the main office was moved again on December 5, 2008, to its current location at 418 Avenue C in Valley Mills, Texas.
