First National Bank

First National Bank, originally established as the First National Bank of Chadron in 1887, was a financial institution located in Chadron, Nebraska. Over its long history, the bank expanded its operations through several acquisitions, including the acquisition of Northwestern State Bank in Hay Springs, Nebraska, on May 1, 1992, and The First National Bank of Ainsworth in Ainsworth, Nebraska, on February 7, 2007. In addition to these expansions, the bank's main office moved to 202 Main Street in Chadron, Nebraska, on February 26, 1990. Ultimately, on July 1, 2021, First National Bank merged with Homestead Bank, which is based in Cozad, Nebraska, marking the end of its independent operations.
