First Midwest Bank, originally established as the Bank of Piedmont on November 22, 1902, has undergone several name changes and organizational transformations throughout its history. In 1975, the main office was relocated to Highway 34 and Beckville Road in Piedmont, Missouri. The institution was renamed First Midwest Bank of Piedmont on September 1, 1989. On January 1, 2005, First Midwest Bank acquired First Midwest Bank of Carter County in Van Buren, Missouri, and subsequently changed its name to First Midwest Bank of the Ozarks on the same day. This name change marked a significant rebranding for the bank as it expanded its operations. On December 3, 2021, First Midwest Bank merged and became part of First Midwest Bank of the Ozarks, solidifying its presence in the region.
