History Of First Midwest Bank

First Midwest Bank, originally established as Moline National Bank on February 13, 1933, underwent a series of name changes and acquisitions over the decades. The bank became First Midwest Bank/Moline, a National Association in July 1985, and then adopted the name First Midwest Bank/Western Illinois in April 1988. Following further growth, it changed its name to First Midwest Bank, National Association in May 1995. The institution expanded significantly through numerous acquisitions, including First Midwest Bank/Illinois in Plainfield, Illinois, and First Midwest Bank/Danville in Danville, Illinois, among others. In June 2001, the bank restructured its regulatory status and adopted its current name, First Midwest Bank. The bank continued to grow through acquisitions, including notable transactions such as Bridgeview Bank Group in May 2019 and Park Bank in June 2020. On February 16, 2022, First Midwest Bank merged with Old National Bank, based in Evansville, Indiana, marking a significant milestone in its history.
