History Of First Keystone Community Bank
First Keystone Community Bank, originally established as The First National Bank of Berwick on September 23, 1864, has undergone several significant transformations throughout its history. On April 30, 2007, the institution changed its name to First Keystone National Bank and subsequently expanded its operations by acquiring Pocono Community Bank in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, on November 1, 2007. As part of a broader reorganization, on October 1, 2010, the bank changed its name to First Keystone Community Bank and shifted its regulatory oversight by changing its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). This reorganization also included a change in bank classification to a state-chartered bank, which is not a member of the Federal Reserve System, as well as a transition to state chartering.
