History Of First Illinois Bank
First Illinois Bank was established on May 9, 1934, under the original name First National Bank at East St. Louis. The institution underwent several significant changes throughout its history. On November 14, 1977, it acquired The National Stock Yards National Bank of National City, Illinois. In 1980, the bank changed its name to First Illinois Bank and transitioned its chartering agency to the state level while withdrawing from membership in the Federal Reserve System on the same day. Subsequently, on January 31, 1995, First Illinois Bank became a member of the Federal Reserve System again. Ultimately, on April 1, 2017, First Illinois Bank merged with and became part of Lindell Bank & Trust Company, based in St. Louis, Missouri.
