History Of First Heritage Bank
First Heritage Bank is a financial institution that was established on April 18, 1882, originally under the name The First National Bank of Centralia. Over the years, the bank underwent several significant changes. On March 20, 1990, the main office relocated to Main Street in Centralia, Kansas. Subsequently, on March 31, 2005, the main office moved again to 620 4th Street, also in Centralia. In a strategic expansion effort, First Heritage Bank acquired Vermillion State Bank in Vermillion, Kansas, on February 28, 2009. A major reorganization occurred on December 21, 2013, when the institution changed its name to First Heritage Bank and also became a state-chartered bank that is not a member of the Federal Reserve System. On the same day, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and withdrew its membership from the Federal Reserve System, with the chartering agency now being state-based.
