History Of First Heritage Bank
First Heritage Bank is a financial institution that was established on January 1, 1903, under the name The First National Bank of Farragut in Farragut, Iowa. Over the years, the bank underwent several changes in its structure and regulatory affiliations. On February 27, 1990, the main office was relocated to Hartford Avenue in Farragut, Iowa. Later, on November 24, 1995, the main office was moved again to 801 South Fremont in Shenandoah, Iowa. On March 17, 2012, the institution changed its name to First Heritage Bank and simultaneously switched its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) while changing its bank classification to a state-chartered bank not a member of the Federal Reserve System. However, on the same day, it withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System. Later that year, on April 20, 2012, the bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency back to the Federal Reserve, became a member of the Federal Reserve System, and changed its classification to a state-chartered bank that is a member of the Federal Reserve System.
