History Of First Harrison Bank
First Harrison Bank, originally established as the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Corydon in 1891, has undergone several transformations throughout its history. On February 1, 1993, the institution changed its name to First Federal Bank, a Federal Savings Bank, and transitioned to a stock savings bank organization type. Subsequently, on January 13, 2000, it adopted the name First Harrison Bank following the acquisition of Harrison County Bank located in Palmyra, Indiana. The bank continued to expand by acquiring Hometown National Bank in New Albany, Indiana, on March 20, 2003, and The Peoples Bank of Bullitt County in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, on December 4, 2015. On April 1, 2004, First Harrison Bank moved its main office to 220 Federal Drive Northwest in Corydon, Indiana. The regulatory oversight of the bank changed on July 21, 2011, when it became regulated by The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
