History Of First Financial Bank
First Financial Bank, originally established in 1889 as The Farmers and Merchants National Bank of Abilene, underwent several name changes and expansions throughout its history. In 1957, it became known as First National Bank of Abilene. The bank has a significant history of acquisitions, including the purchase of American National Bank of Abilene in 1987 and the Bank of Commerce in 1989, both located in Abilene, Texas. Subsequent acquisitions expanded its presence across Texas, including the acquisition of The Peoples State Bank in Clyde in 2005 and a series of banks in 2012, which included multiple branches of First Financial Bank, National Association from various Texas cities such as Weatherford and Hereford. By 2015, the bank had acquired First Bank, National Association in Conroe, Texas, and continued to grow with the acquisition of Commercial State Bank in El Campo in 2018, and The Bank & Trust of Bryan/College Station in 2020. On April 23, 2024, the institution changed its name to First Financial Bank and shifted to a State Chartered Bank, becoming a member of the Federal Reserve System.

I just tried to deposit funds into my account after shopping at Walmart and it was not able to process my funds at the end of the transaction it did not give me back all the bills I put into it unfortunately the bank is closed because it's 10:30 at night but this is the second time I've had problems with this ATM machine fair warning.... First Financial Bank of New Waverly is a bank whose employees are quick to assist, smile with sincerity and laugh at my poor jokes. There is a sense of welcome upon entering the lobby and always a teller to assist with any need. I am impressed that those at higher levels are just as willing to step from behind their desks to assist when needed.
