First Fidelity Bank, originally established as First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Dekalb County on May 3, 1965, underwent several name and organizational changes throughout its history. In 1986, the institution changed its organization type to a Stock Savings & Loan. Subsequently, on July 1, 1996, it adopted the name First Federal Bank. The regulatory oversight of the bank shifted to different agencies over the years, with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency serving as its primary federal regulatory agency until July 21, 2011, when the oversight changed.
