History Of First Federal S&L
First Federal Savings and Loan Association, established on June 1, 1934, underwent several significant changes throughout its history. Initially chartered as a savings and loan association, the institution was named First Federal Savings and Loan Association at its inception. In 1997, the organization transitioned to operating as a Federal and State Savings and Loan, and its chartering agency changed to the state level. On June 30, 1997, the main office relocated to 5 East Main Street in Centerburg, Ohio 43011. Subsequently, on April 1, 2006, the chartering agency was altered to the Office of Thrift Supervision. This was followed by a change in the primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency on July 21, 2011. The institution further evolved on July 2, 2014, when it changed its organizational type to a Mutual Savings Bank.
