HISTORY OF FIRST FEDERAL SAVINGS BANK OF BOSTON

First Federal Savings Bank of Boston, originally established as Second Federal Savings Bank in 1933, underwent several changes throughout its history. In 1986, it transitioned to a stock savings bank and adopted the name First Federal Savings Bank of Boston in 1989. Over the years, the bank experienced a series of mergers and rebranding efforts. In July 2011, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The main office relocated to 100 Brickstone Square in Andover, Massachusetts, in October 2013. The institution was renamed Envision Bank on March 12, 2018. On July 1, 2016, it merged with Randolph Savings Bank, and later, on October 8, 2022, it became part of Abington Bank in Abington, Massachusetts. The final merger occurred on September 21, 2024, when it became part of North Shore Bank, a co-operative bank located in Peabody, Massachusetts.
