History Of First Fed Bank
First Fed Bank, originally established as Lincoln Savings and Loan on January 1, 1923, underwent various changes throughout its history. It adopted the name First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Port Angeles on October 31, 1934. The institution's regulatory status evolved over the years; most notably, on July 21, 2011, the primary federal regulatory agency changed from The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Concurrently, it transitioned from a federally chartered savings bank to a state-chartered savings bank under FDIC supervision. On January 29, 2015, the organization type was updated to a stock savings bank. The bank's main office relocated to 105 West 8th Street in Port Angeles, Washington, on December 31, 2017. Significant structural changes took place on October 31, 2021, when the institution rebranded as First Fed Bank, changed its organization type to a commercial bank, and became a state-chartered bank not a member of the Federal Reserve System.
