History Of First Farmers Bank & Trust
First Farmers Bank & Trust, originally established as Union State Bank in 1932, changed its name to First Farmers National Bank in 1995 when it moved its main office to 123 North Jefferson Street in Converse, Indiana. The institution became a member of the Federal Reserve System in 1994 and subsequently changed its name to First Farmers Bank and Trust Company the same year. Over the years, First Farmers Bank & Trust expanded its operations through a series of acquisitions, including Central Bank in Russiaville, Indiana in 2009, and The Citizens National Bank of Paris in Paris, Illinois in 2012. In 2015, the bank acquired multiple institutions including Community Bank in Hoopeston, Illinois, United Community Bank in Oakwood, Illinois, and The First National Bank of Chrisman in Chrisman, Illinois.
