First Community Bank is a financial institution that was originally established on January 1, 1912, under the name The First National Bank of Newell. Over the decades, the bank underwent several significant changes. On February 27, 1990, its main office was relocated to Second and Fulton in Newell, Iowa. Subsequently, on November 30, 1994, the institution adopted the name First Community Bank, transitioned to full trust powers, and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Additionally, it withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System and adjusted its chartering agency to a state level.
