First Commonwealth Bank is a financial institution that was established on September 21, 1880, as The Deposit National Bank of Du Bois in Du Bois, Pennsylvania. Over the years, the bank underwent several name changes, becoming Du Bois Deposit National Bank, then Deposit National Bank in 1973. In 1980, it withdrew from the Federal Reserve System and changed its chartering agency to a state agency. The bank adopted the name First Commonwealth Bank on November 13, 1995, the same day it moved its main office to 600 Philadelphia Street, Indiana, Pennsylvania. First Commonwealth Bank has grown significantly through a series of acquisitions, including the purchase of Reliable Savings Bank in 1997 and various banks throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio, such as Central Bank, Peoples Bank of Western Pennsylvania, and Foundation Bank.
