Over the years, the bank underwent significant changes, including a name change to First Commercial Bank on August 28, 1991. The bank expanded its operations by acquiring First Commercial Bank of Southeast Missouri in Chaffee, Missouri, on July 1, 2002. In a further development, the main office was relocated to 106 North Main Street in Gideon, Missouri, on December 8, 1980. Ultimately, on December 8, 2018, First Commercial Bank merged with Southern Bank, based in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, marking the end of its independent operations.
