First City Bank, originally established as the Bank of Fort Walton on November 17, 1948, underwent several name changes and relocations during its history. On January 23, 1968, the institution changed its name to First City Bank of Fort Walton. Later, on November 6, 1997, it adopted the name First City Bank of Florida. The bank's main office was moved to 135 Perry Avenue Southeast in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, in 1954. Ultimately, First City Bank failed on October 16, 2020, and subsequently merged with government financial assistance.
