First City Bank

First City Bank was established on January 1, 1907, under the name The Farmers and Merchants Bank Company. Over the years, it underwent several name changes, including becoming The Farmers and Merchants Bank on February 20, 1959, and later First Bank of Christiansburg on September 30, 1981. The bank moved its main office to 2 East Pike Street in Christiansburg, Ohio, on July 8, 1985. Subsequently, it adopted the name First City Bank on October 3, 1988. In the years that followed, the bank changed its trust powers on February 7, 1992, to limited powers and then to none on May 31, 2018. The main office was relocated to 1885 Northwest Boulevard in Columbus, Ohio, on July 6, 1994. Notably, on June 29, 1978, the bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and withdrew from the Federal Reserve System. On October 14, 2022, First City Bank merged and became part of Buckeye State Bank, located in Powell, Ohio.
