First Citizens National Bank was established on January 1, 1889, originally under the name First-Citizens National Bank of Dyersburg. Over the years, the institution has undergone several significant changes and acquisitions. In 1982, it acquired Bank of Yorkville, expanding its presence in Tennessee. The bank rebranded itself as First Citizens National Bank on September 21, 1994. Subsequent acquisitions included The Bank of Troy on February 15, 1999, and First Volunteer Bank in Union City, Tennessee, on June 14, 1999. On January 23, 2003, the main office was relocated to One First Citizens Place in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
