History Of First Bankers Trust Company
First Bankers Trust Company, National Association, is a banking institution located in Quincy, Illinois. It was established on October 23, 1946, under the name First National Bank & Trust Company of Quincy. The institution underwent several name changes over the years, becoming First Midwest Bank/Quincy, National Association on June 26, 1986, following the acquisition of Mendon State Bank in Mendon, Illinois. On January 1, 1988, it acquired First Midwest Bank/Hancock County, National Association in Carthage, Illinois, and subsequently changed its name to First Midwest Bank/M.C., National Association. The name was changed again on June 30, 1989, to First Bankers Trust Company, National Association. After a subsequent rebranding on August 20, 1999, to Bankers Trust Company, National Association, it reverted to the name First Bankers Trust Company, National Association on December 17, 1999.
