First Bank Upper Michigan is a financial institution that was established on August 14, 1916, under the original name First National Bank in Gladstone. The bank underwent a significant transformation in 1989 when it changed its name to First Bank, Upper Michigan, National Association, and subsequently moved its main office several times within Gladstone. In 1993, the bank rebranded to its current name, First Bank Upper Michigan, while also transitioning to be regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and withdrawing from the Federal Reserve System.
