History Of First Bank
First Bank, originally established as First National Bank in Burkburnett on January 1, 1907, has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. On September 30, 1989, the main office was relocated to 300 East Third Street in Burkburnett, Texas. On February 28, 2000, the institution changed its name to First Bank and shifted its charter status to that of a state-chartered bank while becoming a member of the Federal Reserve System. Subsequently, on July 8, 2009, First Bank withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), along with altering its bank class to a state-chartered bank, no longer a member of the Federal Reserve System.
