First Bank & Trust Company, originally established as The First National Bank of Wagoner in 1895, underwent several changes throughout its history. In 1970, the bank moved its main office to 111 Casaver Street in Wagoner, Oklahoma, changed its chartering agency to state, and withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System. The bank expanded its operations, acquiring The First National Bank of Luther in 1987 and subsequently changing its name to First Bank & Trust Company later that year. In the following years, the institution continued to grow, acquiring The First State Bank of Ketchum in 2008 and The Carney State Bank in 2014. On February 16, 2018, First Bank & Trust Company merged with BancFirst, a financial institution based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
