First Bank & Trust Company, originally established as First National Bank in Perry, Oklahoma on February 21, 1934, has undergone several name changes and organizational shifts throughout its history. On February 21, 1972, it became known as First National Bank and Trust Company. The institution underwent significant regulatory changes on January 3, 1994, when it changed its name to First Bank & Trust Company, transitioned its chartering agency to state regulations, and withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System while changing its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In the years that followed, the bank expanded its footprint by acquiring The First State Bank in Billings, Oklahoma on March 26, 1987, and later moving its main office to 407 7th Street in Perry, Oklahoma on July 23, 1987.
