The First Bank of Wyoming, originally established as The First National Bank of Powell in 1912, underwent several name and structural changes throughout its history. On January 21, 1998, it changed its name to First National Bank and Trust Company and expanded its operations with the acquisition of Lovell National Bank in Lovell, Wyoming, on September 17, 1993. On June 30, 2011, the institution adopted the name First Bank of Wyoming and transitioned to a state-chartered bank, withdrawing from membership in the Federal Reserve System and changing its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Subsequently, on April 30, 2012, it merged and became part of Glacier Bank, located in Kalispell, Montana. Finally, on January 1, 2018, the institution officially changed its name to Glacier Bank.
