History Of First American Bank
First American Bank is a financial institution in the United States, established on March 26, 1901, under the name The First National Bank of Dundee. Over the years, the bank underwent several name changes and structural shifts, with its name changed to The First Bank of Dundee in 1974, followed by The First National Bank of Dundee in 1970, and subsequently to First American Bank of Dundee in 1984. In 1986, it further rebranded as First American Bank of Kane County. The institution adopted its current name, First American Bank, on May 14, 1990. Significant growth occurred through acquisitions, including multiple First American Banks in Illinois and the First American Bank of Kankakee in 1999. The bank continued to expand by acquiring other financial institutions, including Southport Bank in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Continental National Bank in Miami, Florida, in 2018 and 2019, respectively. In addition to its expansion activities, First American Bank moved its main office to Elk Grove Village, Illinois, in February 2009.
