First American Bank

First American Bank was established on June 1, 1934, originally named The State Bank. The institution became a member of the Federal Reserve System on the same day and underwent several name changes, becoming First American State Bank in 1982 and later First American Bank in 1995. Over the years, the bank expanded through a series of acquisitions, including Iowa State Bank and Trust Company in Dayton, Iowa, in 1982, and multiple First American Bank branches in various Iowa cities in 2000, followed by the acquisition of First American Bank, National Association in Naples, Florida, in 2006. In 1997, First American Bank transitioned to a state-chartered bank while remaining a member of the Federal Reserve System. After decades of operation and growth, the bank closed voluntarily and liquidated its assets on March 13, 2020.
