Fidelity State Bank and Trust Company was established on April 29, 1922, originally under the name The Fidelity Savings State Bank. The bank underwent a significant name change on January 9, 1962, when it became known as Fidelity State Bank. On March 18, 1968, it adopted its current name, Fidelity State Bank and Trust Company. On February 21, 1975, the institution changed its regulatory status by becoming a state-chartered bank and withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, subsequently changing its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
