Fidelity Bank, originally established as the Bank of Fuquay on January 1, 1909, has undergone several name changes and acquisitions throughout its history. In 1970, the institution changed its name to The Fidelity Bank after acquiring Citizens State Bank in Biscoe, North Carolina. The bank moved its main office to South Main Street in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, in 1972 and subsequently relocated to 100 South Main Street, Fuquay-Varina, in 1979. Fidelity Bank expanded its operations through acquisitions, including Granville Federal Savings and Loan Association in Oxford, North Carolina, in February 1992, and Perpetual State Bank in Lexington, North Carolina, in August 1996. The bank changed its trust powers to full status on November 15, 2013, solidifying its position in the financial industry.
