History Of Fidelity Bank

Fidelity Bank, originally established as Fidelity National Bank on February 12, 1974, has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. In December 1982, it expanded its operations by acquiring full trust powers. Over the years, the bank expanded its reach, renaming itself Fidelity Bank on May 9, 2003, as part of a series of regulatory adjustments, including a withdrawal from the Federal Reserve System and a change in its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The institution's main office relocated multiple times, with notable moves in August 2005 to Atlanta, Georgia, and again in December 2008 to another Atlanta address. The bank participated in a number of government-assisted mergers, acquiring Decatur First Bank in October 2011 and Security Exchange Bank in June 2012, further solidifying its presence in the region. On October 2, 2015, Fidelity Bank acquired The Bank of Georgia in Peachtree City, Georgia, completing a significant phase of growth and consolidation in its operational history.
