History Of Farmers State Bank
Farmers State Bank, established on June 25, 1903, originally began its operations under that name. Over the decades, the bank underwent several changes in location and regulatory status. On May 25, 1940, it became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its classification to a state-chartered bank with Federal Reserve membership. However, on June 15, 1951, the bank withdrew from the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The bank's main office has moved multiple times: it was located at 1310 Sixth Street in Jesup, Iowa, from February 11, 1980, until November 22, 1996, when it moved to 300 South 3rd Street in Raymond, Iowa. Subsequently, on November 1, 2001, it relocated to 1009 People Square in Waterloo, Iowa. The most recent move occurred on January 27, 2015, when the main office shifted to 131 Tower Park Drive in Waterloo, Iowa.
