Farmers State Bank was established in 1892, initially serving the banking needs of its local community. Over the years, the institution underwent significant changes, including the relocation of its main office on May 2, 1994, to 102 East Main Street in Mentone, Indiana. On June 1, 2016, Farmers State Bank merged with Horizon Bank, National Association, based in Michigan City, Indiana, becoming a part of the larger banking organization.
