History Of Farmers Deposit Bank
Farmers Deposit Bank was established in 1866 under the original name Deposit Bank of Carlisle. Over the years, the institution underwent several name changes and structural adjustments. In 1950, it changed its trust powers to full. On October 20, 2010, the bank was renamed Deposit Bank of Carlisle before adopting the name Farmers Deposit Bank on June 29, 2013. That same day, it acquired The Farmers National Bank of Cynthiana and moved its main office to 101 East Pike Street in Cynthiana, Kentucky. On December 7, 2018, Farmers Deposit Bank merged with City National Bank of West Virginia, based in Charleston, West Virginia, officially becoming part of that banking institution.
