Farmers and Traders Savings Bank was established on May 20, 1910, in Douds, Iowa, originally operating under that name. The institution changed its trust powers to full on the same day it was established. Over the ensuing decades, the bank underwent several relocations, with the main office moving on April 24, 1990, to Main Street in Douds, and then again on March 31, 2006, to a location on Highway 98 also in Douds. On July 19, 2019, Farmers and Traders Savings Bank merged with Libertyville Savings Bank, becoming part of that institution based in Fairfield, Iowa.
