Farmers and Merchants State Bank is a financial institution established on January 1, 1895, in Bloomfield, Nebraska. Initially named Farmers and Merchants State Bank of Bloomfield, it has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. On July 8, 1983, the bank expanded its operations by acquiring the Bank of Niobrara in Niobrara, Nebraska. This was followed on December 3, 1987, by the acquisitions of Crofton State Bank in Crofton, Nebraska, and Center State Bank in Center, Nebraska. On the same date, the bank moved its main office to Main Street in Bloomfield. Subsequently, on March 31, 2006, the main office was relocated to 103 North Broadway Street in Bloomfield, Nebraska, where it continues to operate today.
