Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank

Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank was established on December 4, 1925, in Waukon, Iowa, initially operating under the name Farmers & Merchants Savings Bank. The institution underwent a name change to Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank on August 22, 1962. On May 17, 1982, the bank expanded its capabilities by changing its trust powers to full trust powers. The main office of the bank was relocated on April 15, 1985, to 201 West Main Street, Waukon, Iowa. Ultimately, on April 1, 2019, Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank merged with FreedomBank, which is based in Elkader, Iowa.
