History Of Fannin Bank
Fannin Bank, originally established as The First National Bank of Windom on April 22, 1925, underwent its first name change on April 15, 1964, becoming Fannin National Bank. In a significant regulatory transition on January 20, 1976, the institution changed its name to Fannin Bank, shifted its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System. On the same date, the bank transitioned to a state-chartered institution. Prior to this, on May 19, 1975, the main office relocated to U.S. Highway 82 and Farm-to-Market Road 1743 in Windom, Texas. The bank later moved its main office again on March 1, 2005, to 230 East 3rd Street in Bonham, Texas.
