History Of Fahey Bank
Fahey Bank, originally established as The Fahey Banking Company on May 1, 1865, has undergone several changes throughout its history. Initially a member of the Federal Reserve System, the institution switched its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve on April 13, 1943, and attained the status of a state-chartered bank. However, on October 1, 1959, it withdrew from the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), while retaining its state-chartered status as a non-member bank. On February 3, 1969, the bank changed its name to The Fahey Banking Company and relocated its main office to 127 North Main Street in Marion, Ohio.
