History Of Exchange Bank of Missouri
The Exchange Bank of Missouri, originally established as the Exchange Bank of New Franklin, Missouri on November 19, 1927, has undergone several name and organizational changes throughout its history. In June 1982, it changed its name to Exchange Bank of New Franklin, National Association and became a member of the Federal Reserve System, prior to switching its chartering agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. In September 1982, the bank adopted the name Exchange National Bank of Howard County. On October 31, 1986, the institution rebranded itself as the Exchange Bank of Missouri and shifted its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation while withdrawing from the Federal Reserve System. The bank relocated its main office to 101 South Church Street in Fayette, Missouri on the same date. On March 12, 1996, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve System once again. Most recently, on November 16, 2012, the Exchange Bank of Missouri acquired the State Bank of Slater in Slater, Missouri.
