HISTORY OF EXCHANGE BANK
Exchange Bank was established on April 9, 1917, originally named Exchange Bank. Over the years, the institution underwent several significant changes and expansions. On April 18, 1990, the main office was relocated to Main Street in Gibbon, Nebraska. Later, on March 31, 2006, the main office was moved again, this time to 14 La Barre in Gibbon. In November 2011, Exchange Bank expanded its footprint by acquiring Nebraska National Bank located in Kearney, Nebraska. A major transformation occurred on October 1, 2014, when the bank changed its name to Exchange Bank and transitioned to full trust powers. The bank further expanded by acquiring The First National Bank and Trust Company of Junction City, Kansas, on the same day. Most recently, the main office was relocated twice; on January 31, 2020, and again on February 3, 2020, moving to 3110 2nd Avenue in Kearney, Nebraska.
