In 2003, the bank changed its name to Equity Bank, A National Association. A significant rebranding occurred on June 16, 2012, when it adopted the name Equity Bank and became a state-chartered bank, transitioning its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve System. The bank has actively pursued growth through acquisitions, with notable transactions including the purchase of Ellis State Bank in Ellis, Kansas in August 2008 and the acquisition of First Community Bank in Lees Summit, Missouri in October 2012. Have had a wonderful experience with Equity Bank until recently when we found out a form we signed upon opening our account wasn't filed and we ended up paying $180 rounded in overdraft fees. Managers at the Andover branch were courteous and stated they would reverse some of the charges and we were pleased.
