In 1959, the institution became known as Stockyards National Bank, and in 1973, it further changed its name to United American State Bank & Trust Company after withdrawing from the Federal Reserve System. The bank continued to evolve and became United American Bank & Trust Company in 1976. A significant transformation occurred in 1989 when the bank adopted the name Emprise Bank and underwent a series of acquisitions that included the Wichita State Bank and National Bank of Wichita.
