Elgin State Bank was established on February 27, 1964, originally under the name Lincoln State Bank. The institution underwent a name change on March 26, 1973, becoming Lincoln State Bank once more before adopting the name The Elgin State Bank shortly thereafter on March 30, 1973. On June 22, 1998, the main office of Elgin State Bank was relocated to 1001 South Randall Road, Elgin, Illinois. The bank continued its operations until it merged with St. Charles Bank & Trust Company on September 30, 2011. Following this merger, the institution changed its name to St. Charles Bank & Trust Company, National Association, on January 1, 2020. Throughout its history, Elgin State Bank served as a financial institution within Illinois until its integration into St. Charles Bank & Trust.
