History Of Edgewater Bank

Edgewater Bank was established on January 1, 1910, originally as La Salle Federal Savings and Loan Association of Buchanan. Over the years, the institution underwent several name and organizational changes. In April 1989, it became Lasalle Federal Savings Bank and transitioned to a mutual savings bank. The organization later changed its designation to a stock savings bank in January 2014. In August 2013, it adopted the name Edgewater Bank. This name change was followed by a relocation of its main office to 321 Main Street, Saint Joseph, Michigan, on October 24, 2005. The bank experienced regulatory changes, with a shift to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as its primary federal regulatory agency on June 26, 2017, and subsequently changing its classification to a state-chartered bank. After several years of operation, Edgewater Bank voluntarily closed and liquidated its assets on May 1, 2021.
