History Of Deerwood Bank
Deerwood Bank, established on March 21, 1910, originally operated as The First National Bank of Deerwood. Over the years, the institution underwent various changes, including a significant rebranding on March 6, 2014, when it adopted the name Deerwood Bank and transitioned to a state-chartered bank that is not a member of the Federal Reserve System. The bank's primary federal regulatory agency was changed to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) at this time. In its growth trajectory, Deerwood Bank acquired several other financial institutions, including Northland Community Bank in Northome, Minnesota, in July 2005 and American Bank of St. Paul in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in June 2015. On April 28, 2018, Deerwood Bank further expanded its operations by acquiring Plaza Park State Bank in Waite Park, Minnesota. That same day, the main office was relocated to 131 6th Avenue South, Suite 100, in Waite Park.
